Glendale came from 3 goals behind to salvage a point against Halliburton but will still look at this as 2 points dropped at Lawsondale on Saturday.
Their was little between the sides in the opening 10 minutes but Glendale collapsed in a crazy 15 minute spell to concede 3 goals. On 12 minutes Simpson on the right wing was given time to get a cross in which Derek McKenzie started to come for but hesitated and OBRIEN nipped in to flick the ball past the keeper. 18 minutes and it was 2 as Halliburton broke at pace Obrien brushed off Jonny Reith played the ball wide to Simpson and when his cross came into the box OBRIEN directed a header away from McKenzie for a great goal. Mark Robb had a chance to pull one back when through but Marlow raced from his line to save at his feet. 23 minutes and incredibly Halliburton went 3-0 ahead again Simpson on the right wing created all the danger as his cross was sclaffed by Connor Pirie straight to Laing whose shot was parried by McKenzie and up stepped RITCHIE who slammed home the loose ball. Dale were in need of inspiration or a slice of luck and got the latter when ROBB used his hand to knock the ball forward and ran through to score. Halliburton were incensed but the goal stood and Dale were back in the game. H.T 3-1.
Glendale now had the wind in their favour and the momentum and 10 minutes into the 2nd half pulled a goal back when Ally Black crossed to Robb whose effort was blocked but DANNY LECHNER followed up to find the back of the net. It was all one way traffic now and with 10 minutes left Dale were level when again Black got to the by line and crossed for ROBB to volley home from 6 yards. Black thought he had won the game with an effort from a corner which appeared to cross the line but Marlow grabbed the ball and cleared before a decision could be made. To compound Dale’s misery Alex McMahon,Booked earlier got involved again and along with a Halliburton player was shown a 2nd yellow.
