Match Report

On the eve of Guy Fawkes night Glendale produced a “Spectacular Display” of “Firepower” as they “Blew” away a depleted Bon Accord side at Maryculter with a “Barrage” of goals on Saturday.

The game almost had a sensational start Mark Robb was like a “Catherine Wheel” as he twisted in mid air to connect with a James McMahon cross only for the visiting Goalkeeper to save. Robb’s next effort was more of a “Damp Squid” as he dragged a shot wide form a good position. The goal was only delayed though as Dale took the lead on 12 minutes. Calum Sutherland’s corner was met by CRAIG McRAE who swept the ball home at the far post. 3 minutes later it was 2 as CONNOR PIRIE collected the ball inside the Bon Accord half and unleashed a “Rocket” from 22 yards which “Exploded”into the net. A devastating spell was complete when Robb slipped a neat pass inside to ALLY BLACK who ran through and struck a “Firecracker” into the roof of the net. A shellshocked Bon Acord only response was a free kick which Derek McKenzie needed two attempts to gather and a speculative cross/lob which bounced back off the bar. H.T 3-0.

Dale started the 2nd half in a casual fashion but on 55 minutes CRAIG McRAE was on hand to prod home his second of the afternoon and from there Dale stepped up the pace again to demolish their opponents.

ROBB added a 5th and eventually JAMES McMAHON got in on the act scoring twice but the loudest cheer of the afternoon came when CALLUM SUTHERLAND, on his farewell appearance before moving to America ran through to score then turning and giving his watching girlfriend a “Silver Salute” Awww!

A first class performance from Glendale proving once again it’s not ability which stops them winning games but player availability!

Man of the Match  Ally Black.
