For the 2nd week in a row Glendale were involved in a dramatic finish as James McMahon came off the bench to grab a late double against Kaimhill in a game that saw both teams finish with ten men.
Kaimhill made the brighter start and twice in quick succession Derek McKenzie had to get down low to push away efforts at his near post. Mark Robb had Dales 1st chance when he fashioned a shooting chance but fired into the side netting. An acrobatic effort from Darren Buchan brought oohs from the crowd as his volley just cleared the bar. With the game pretty even Kaimhill were reduced to 10 men when the winger lashed out at Craig McRae leaving the Ref little option and Dale capitalised soon after when Ally Black got to the by line and pulled the ball back for MARK ROBB, Who stepped inside his marker and shot low into the net. Kaimhill had loud claims for a penalty but it looked more like their player committed the foul and the Referee rightly waved play on. H.T 0-1
The 2nd half had hardly begun when Robb was late on a challenge on the Goalkeeper as he chased a long ball through the defence and again it looked like the Ref called it right as he brandished the red card for the disappointed Dale attacker. McKenzie again came to Dale’s rescue when he saved from Milligan however on 70 minutes Kaimhill were awarded a penalty when Connor Pirie tripped MILLIGAN in the box and the same player picked himself up to blast the spot kick high into the roof of the net. Kaimhill were pressing for the winner but left the back door open and from a long hoof up the park substitute JAMES McMAHON broke away to score past Pitendreigh. Kaimhill refused to lie down and on 88 minutes tied the game up when BRAMMA got on the end of Milligan’s cross to fire past McKenzie. A point apiece may have been a fair reflection but Michael Thomson had other idea’s as he raced away from his marker and delivered the perfect cross for JAMES McMAHON who had the simple task of scoring at the back post. Harsh on Kaimhill and a get out of jail card used by Glendale.
