Glendale fell to their first defeat of the season as they went down 4-2 to Bon Accord City at the Woodside Sports complex. With the pitch in perfect condition Bon Accord kicked off and completed 15 passes before a Glendale player touched the ball as eventually Alex McMahon got a foot in to concede a corner. From the corner McERLEAN rose unchallenged to head powerfully into the net. It looked like it could be a long night for Glendale after that start but to their credit gave the perfect response by equalising in 5 minutes when Danny Lechner swung in a corner which was flicked on and CRAIG McRAE reacted to force the ball home. From there Glendale played some scintillating stuff with the front pairing of Lechner and James McMahon leading the Bon Accord defenders a merry dance at times. It was JAMES McMAHON who put Dale in front on the half hour mark with a stunning individual goal.Starting the move himself playing a ball up the line for Lechner to cross he made up acres of ground to pick the pocket of the centre half, round the keeper and score from an acute angle. Glendale were denied a penalty as Michael Thomson was tripped in the box and C McRae should have scored again when played in by J McMahon but shot over the bar but at half time Glendale were well worth their lead H.T 1-2
The 2nd half however did not follow the same script as it was Bon Accord who were to dominate. they equalised 10 minutes after the re start from a corner and went ahead again on 75 minutes a pass from Nicolson allowed QUIN to run through and score past McKenzie. With Dale visibly wilting Bon Accord made the points save just before the end when they were awarded a penalty which was duly dispatched to complete the scoring.
