Glendale were drawn against Cornhill Thistle in the Semi Final and defeated their host’s 3-1 with goals from Brechin,Beer and Duncan.
In the final they faced their bitter rival’s from the juvenile days who had followed the up the league’s Potterton but the final was due to be played on a Sunday and first Glendale and Potterton both had to play games on the Saturday as well. Glendale’s preparation was not good as they slumped to a disappointing defeat to 4-2 Stoneywood SC and to make matters worse Robert Mitchell was carried off after 20 minutes with a bad ankle injury. To everyone’s amazement 24 hours later Mitchell turned up in the changing room declaring himself fit and with a heavy bandage wrapped around his ankle went out a played a “blinder”. Goals from PETER DALGARNO,ALISTAIR HAINING and JAMES BRECHIN had Potterton reeling with no answer as Dale strolled to victory.
