Glendale traveled the short distance to Kaimhill but returned empty handed from this Div 1 North league fixture.
The game was only 2 minutes old when the Host’s took an early lead as Dale conceded yet another goal from a throw in. The ball into the box wasn’t dealt with convincingly enough and MORRISON pounced to drive the ball low into the net giving Innes no chance. In 6 minutes Glendale were level when a pass back to the goalkeeper was short and JAMES McMAHON was on it in a flash to tuck the ball past McDonald.
In 12 minutes Kaimhill were back in front when BURR waltzed past a couple of challenges on the edge of the box before driving a shot beyond Innes from 12 yards. on 22 minutes it was 3-1 to the home side after a sweeping move from the half way line the ball was played wide to Greig and his pin point cross was headed powerfully into the net by the towering BURR. You could argue the cross should have been stopped but you could not argue about the quality of the finish,Brilliant. Kaimhill added a 4th just before the break to leave Dale with a mountain to climb in the 2nd half. H.T 4-1
The 2nd half was a more even affair neither side really held the upper hand but Kaimhill increased their lead on 65 minutes from what looked a soft penalty award as Calum Robertson was adjudged to have fouled his opponent in the box and after a retake for encroachment MORRISON converted and with 5 minutes left substitute MARK ROBB scored when he out foxed his marker to turn on the edge of the penalty box and shoot over the head of McDonald to pull a goal back but it was too little too late.
