Glendale welcomed league leaders Westhill to Maryculter for a mid-week game and despite not having either keepers Muirhead or Henderson available gathered all 3 points in a game which was competitive throughout.
Neil Innes donned the gloves as Dale showed attack is the best form of defence by taking the lead in 3 minutes. Callum Stewart’s inswinging corner caused havoc in the Westhill 6 yard box and MARK ROBB claimed the final touch to put Dale ahead. In 10 minutes it was 2 when a long clearance from Jonny Reith saw STEWART race clear to chip the advancing Gibson. Innes was then forced to tip over the bar as Westhill tried to respond and just before ht Westhill scored when REID gave Innes no chance with a shot from just outside the box.
Glendale increased their lead in 50 minutes when Westhill defence got themselves in a tangle and MARK ROBB pounced to grab his 2nd of the match. In 70 minutes Westhill grabbed a 2nd when Innes produced a wonder save but the ball fell kindly for FULTON to score however just as Westhill thought they might get back on level terms a fine pass up the wing by Scott Farmer saw STEWART race clear play a one-two off the keeper and put Dale 4-2 ahead. In the last minute Neil Humphries, booked minutes earlier needlessly handled in the box and received a 2nd yellow and KENNEDY scored from the spot kick to end a highly entertaining match.
