Glendale and Stoneywood shared the spoils 1-1 draw at a cold Webster park on Saturday. Both teams fought hard and had their spells on top but a lack of quality on both sides showed.
Glendale started the brighter and an effort from Danny Lechner flew just over the bar but it was Stoneywood who went ahead in the 13th minute when across field pass opened up the Glendale defence and BARRY MILNE strode forward to unleash a powerful left foot drive which gave Muirhead no chance. Stoneywood grew in confidence from this point as Glendale became more ragged and were well worth their half time lead.
The second half brought an improvement from Glendale and deservedly equalised in 50 minutes when Darren Buchan threaded a ball through for CALLUM STEWART whose first effort was blocked by the keeper but Stewart followed up to score his first goal since wearing his new “dancing pumps”. Thereafter the game swung from end to end and right at the death Glendale thought they had won it when Mark Robb saw his effort brilliantly saved on the line by Dalgarno but in truth it would have been harsh for either side to have lost what was an even encounter.
