Glendale lost 3-0 to an impressive Echt side in the last 16 of the North of Scotland on Saturday.Premier Division side Echt always held the upper hand although Glendale battled well right to the end.
Echt started as if they meant business and twice went close in the opening minutes however with 15 minutes on the clock it was Glendale who carved out the best chance when good play down the right saw Callum Stewart send in a great cross for Mark Robb but his header drifted just wide.Next Graeme Oag intercepted a pass back and rounded the keeper but Echt got enough numbers back to clear the danger.
With 27 minutes on the clock Echt went ahead Singer sent in a cross which CHRIS TURBINE controlled and with his back to goal, swiveled to fire an unstoppable shot past Stewart Muirhead. 5 minutes later Glendale were left with a mountain to climb when again Singer got to the bye line and his cross was deftly volleyed home by EVAN ROBERTSON. H.T 2-0.
The 2nd half followed much the same pattern with Glendale huffing and puffing while Echt dominated mid- field and with 70 minutes on the clock sealed the win when the energetic Turbine crossed for ROBERTSON to head home his 2nd of the match from 7 yards. There was still time for both keepers to produce a fine save each as first Muirhead dived to his right to brilliantly turn away a low shot then at the other end Milne touched a net bound shot from Danny Lechner over the bar to deny Glendale what would have been a deserved consolation.
