The annual Old Crock’s game took place at Maryculter on Sunday with the “Young Bucks” once again coming out on top although the final scoreline flattered them a little.
The Crock’s had an abundance of talent to call on this year and for large parts of the game gave as good as they got until the latter stages. A goal less first half saw the Crock’s play the better football and only a fine save by Derek McKenzie in goal for the “Bucks” denied Graeme Oag the opener. The 2nd half saw the “Bucks” go ahead on the hour mark when player/coach MICHAEL JOHNSON struck a speculative effort from 20 yards which entered the net via the underside of the crossbar. From that point on the “Bucks” began to dominate more and JOHN CAMERON added a 2nd then a shot from MARK ROBB took a wicked deflection on it’s way past Neil Walker. A harsh penalty award saw RYAN McRAE convert for a fourth before STEVEN ABERCROMBIE grabbed a consolation at the end for the Crock’s.
