Glendale AFC are delighted to announce Simon Darwin as their new Player/Coach for the coming season.
Simon will assist Manager Neil McCubbin with training and all team matters.
As a talented youngster Simon played for Enfield Rangers in north London, and it was there that his performances saw him invited to have trials with Newcastle,Charlton, West Ham and Norwich before he eventually signed as a trainee with Cambridge United.
Whilst at Cambridge Simon was involved in a player exchange with Ajax which saw him spend sometime at the famed Ajax Youth Academy and can boast Danny Granville, Liam Diash and Steve Claridge as his former teammates.
After his release from Cambridge Simon played semi-professional in the London area before accepting a new challenge by moving to Aberdeen to work in the Oil Industry hence his introduction to Glendale.
Now in his second spell with the club,Simon, A popular and commanding figure in the changing room will be hoping to bring success to the club.
